News

In 1984 a group of Swimbridge mums started the villages first playgroup in the Old School Rooms. Since then it has grown and developed into the current pre-school to meet the communities needs and OFSTEDs requirements.

The Pre-school provides a happy, colourful, safe and stimulating environment for learning through play and social interaction, recognising right from wrong, developing independence and building self confidence.

Swimbridge Pre-school is still held in the Old School Rooms with 4 sessions each term held at Swimbridge Primary School in order to familiarise children within a school setting and to make use of the outdoor space available.

May 2008 Newsletter

Summer is on its way (we hope!) along with it several events.

The summer fete will be in June so we need lots of cakes and scones to be donated  the date and details will be posted on Pre-schools door closer to the event.

There will be a Teddy bear Tombola in July, again donations of teddy bears in good condition will be needed for this to take place. Please bring them into the Pre-school where they can be collected together.

Sarah is hoping to organise a farm visit to take the children along with parents which has been done once before and was very successful. This we are hoping will take place towards the end of June.

The 40/60 sale which was held to raise funds for Pre-School went well, we raised and we would like to thank all those who helped out or contributed.

Filleigh fete is also coming up on the 16th of August and we need volunteers to do the face painting for this event please. Anyone able to help please contact Jeanine or Denise.

Tesco and Sainsbury vouchers if you could please bring them into Pre-School as we hope to make an order before the summer break.

At the end of term we hope to do another Teddy bears picnic as this was a success last year more details will be posted.

Parents evening is hoping to be held in July, but again until final details have been made watch this space.
